I stopped a bike, described Mark’s house,paid my fare and off I went. Within 20mins I had gotten to a bungalow, painted with yellow. I smiled and knocked on the black metal door, while I waited for it to be opened I quickly adjusted my clothes, rubbed my palm across my oblong face, cross checking if I looked good.


“Hey baby” he said immediately he opened the door allowing me to step into the well finished apartment with white tiles on the floor, brown curtains. “How do you manage to keep your house this clean” I asked observing how tidy and clean the house was. He scoffed in reply “have your seat, what do I offer you”. “Anything chilled” I answer settling down on a nearby chair.


We got talking about a movie, his work and my education. Wow!! I couldn’t help but observe his fluent English and his ability to keep a conversation going.

“Give me few minutes, let me freshen up” he said breaking into my thoughts ” hmmm, dirty boy so you haven’t taken your bath since morning” in a jovial manner “don’t mind me have been busy” he said as he entered a nearby room.


I waited for long didn’t know when I got engrossed in the movie showing on the plasma TV. All of a sudden I felt a cold hand on my shoulder as I jolted back to my environment and discovered that it was Mark’s. “Hey it took you eternity to take your bath”I said. “So how do I appease the gods” he said as he sat in the same couch with me. “Take me out” I quickly chirped in. He only scoffed and paid attention to the movie like he was trying to grasp at that particular scene.
