A man miraculously survived a suicide attempt in a video that seems to show a train passing over him without causing any injuries.

CCTV from Phetchaburi railway station in southern Thailand shows a man in a green T-shirt fling himself on to tracks just seconds before a train pulls in, giving the driver no time to stop.

It looks like he has been cut in half by its wheels.

CCTV from the opposite platform seems to show the same thing, with the Thonburi to Prajuab train passing over the suicidal man as it comes to a halt in Phetchaburi in Central Thailand.

Commuters witnessing the scene seem horrified.

But then, amazingly, he jumps up on the platform apparently unharmed and runs off.

Local media reported that paramedics rushed to the scene. Witnesses had seen the man jump under the locomotive but had not noticed him jump up and run away because their view had then been obscured by the train.

But they found no one on the track. The suicidal man was discovered by police on a nearby road.

He was identified as Wirachai Nisairam, an unemployed 23-year-old from Buriram in eastern Thailand.
