Top 5 Achievements of OAU’s AVC - Prof Elujoba’s Tenure

Just some weeks before the Acting vice-chancellor of Nigeria’s prestigious university, Obafemi Awolowo University – Prof Anthony Elujoba steps down, we take a look at his spectacular achievements after coming in to salvage the controversies surrounding the election that brought Prof Salami into the VC seat some months ago.

His tenure has been characterized by a bunch of achievements, little wonder why everyone on OAU campus wants him to continue as the Vice-chancellor despite the propagandas set-up by some people against him.

1. Renovations of the Hall of residence Toilets
For over some times, there has been complaints from every student’s angle about the poor state of the Toilets in their respective halls of residence. But one of the project that got the AVC on his feet was the renovation of this toilets, and just some weeks to the end of his tenure, we can say all this toilets are better by far.

2. Clean and Stable Water Supply
Not mentioning the water pump he gave to the school’s water station recently, he has worked tremendously to make sure the hall of residence has a clean and stable water. The state of this water presently is a testimony to this.

3. Renovations of Lecture Theaters
Before his appointment, the lecture Theaters on OAU campus are nothing to write home about, as almost all the seats in most of the lecture Theaters are dilapidated, in that a thousand seaters lecture theater can no longer hold 300 students. But now it’s a new story, as he has completely changed all dilapidated seats in the leture theatre.

4. Stable Academic Calendar
Over five months at the helm of affairs, the AVC has maintained peace with all unions on campus, as he takes time to file out and trash burning issues with them. With this he has made it possible for the university to conduct academic activities for a session under 8 months. If the pace is kept, OAU will be the school with the fastest academic calendar in Nigeria by 2019.

5. Transparent Administration
Give it to him. He’s running a transparent governance, a course which made it possible for him to walk the surface of the university freely and without guilt.
Since he’s appointment, the regeneration and implantation of new things on OAU campus has been massive.
